heavy equipment

Among the myriad programs offered at Milo Adventist Academy, one stands out for its unique blend of hands-on learning and real-world application: Heavy Equipment. Heavy equipment is an integral part of how we maintain and improve our surroundings.

But beyond this the Heavy Equipment program at Milo offers much more than just operating machinery. Students enrolled in the program are introduced to the inner workings of the heavy equipment industry, learning about operation and maintenance, and even have the opportunity to rebuild bulldozers from the ground up.

In addition to gaining technical skills, students also learn important life lessons. Though the work can be tough and dirty, it teaches invaluable lessons in teamwork, responsibility, and problem-solving: skills that will serve students well, regardless of their future career paths. It also helps instill a strong work ethic and opens doors to potential careers in the heavy equipment industry for those who are interested. With Milo’s expansive campus, favorable terrain, and wooded areas perfect for logging, students have ample opportunities to put their skills to the test in a real-world setting.

Central to the success of the Heavy Equipment program are the knowledgeable, experienced, and skilled supervisors who guide the students. Our supervisors are not only passionate about their job but are also dedicated to imparting valuable skills and principles to students that will help them succeed in life.
